I really can’t say enough about the trip. All of us had a great time and were very impressed with the campground, facilities, the attitudes and helpfulness of employees, the delicious lunch and dinner, and of course the AWESOME trip on the Lower New River. Just wanted to thank you and the staff at River Expeditions for a great time during our recent rafting trip. We booked our trip with Extreme Expeditions at the Cleveland Outdoorsman Show. We had no idea what to expect not knowing that much about the company; but we were impressed with the treatment we received at the show. The minute we checked in, which was late Friday night, the staff was pleasant, friendly and accommodating. The lodging accommodations and meals were excellent. When we checked in Saturday morning for rafting, the staff was immediately there to greet us and made us feel welcome. The staff was friendly, motivated and quick to answer questions, we knew that we were going to have a great time. I was impressed with the knowledge of the guides, as well as their concern for our safety and us having a good time. THE BEST FATHER SON TRIP WE"VE EVER HAD IN MY SON"S 14YRS OF LIFE. WE CAMPED AND RAFTED 2 DAYS. THE TRIP WAS PLANNED FOR 1 DAY BUT IT WAS SO FABULOUS, WE EXTENDED IT. WE WERE DISAPPOINTED THAT WE HAD TO GO HOME BECAUSE OF LACK OF FUNDS OR WE WOULD HAVE STAYED A MONTH. IT WAS JUST THAT AWESOME.TONY and BRANT DENNIS

Where do I start? First I′ll say that I was stunned at how clean the bathrooms were, the food was excellent, the campground was a great place to relax and drink a little beer. Went rafting with you for two days down the lower New. Our favorite guide was Matt. What a great time! Matt was just awesome! He even told us some great local hangouts to go to. The kids had a great time jumping off the cliffs, Matt! Hope your new puppy is doing well! He was just meant to be! What a great outfitter. Everyone was so nice and the atmosphere was just what we were looking for. Our friends and relatives are getting tired of watching our video tape over and over again! Thanks a bunch. My first and second trip was in 2001 and I have been coming down since then twice a year and each time it has been great. I had thought about trying a different outfitter but that′s as far as it got. My rafting will continue to be with River Expeditions. I have made four trips on the lower new and one on the lower gauley. September will be my first trip on the Upper/Lower in one day. We had a fantastic time on the Lower New. First time rafting for my daughter and me, and the second time for my son. Your operation is very well-run and staffed by friendly people totally tuned to serving your customers. Our guide made sure everyone had a great time while watching out for our safety. Being in the ad business, I expected the beautiful photos and superlatives about River Expedition′s staff and services to be, well, at least a bit exaggerated. WRONG! My son and I couldn′t have been more delighted with your staff, the quality of care, and experienced river guides. All I can say is, FANTASTIC! Our trip down the upper and middle Gauley River was, without a doubt, the most fun anyone can have with their clothes on! Our guide on Sept. 15 was Justin and he did a great job of keeping most of us in the raft except for a couple of times when one of us, including Justin, managed to slip over the side and go for a swim. (Sorry, Justin, I had to tell!) I highly recommend Justin, a very skilled and knowledgeable guide. The most fun I′ve ever had! Thanks again, we′ll be back! I have become hooked on rafting thanks to River Expeditions. My first trip was in 2001. I came down in June and August. In 2002 I brought friends witn me and I came back myself for my first trip on the lower gauley. 2003 in July there were 10 of us and 7 first timers and they all are coming back. I came back in Sept and did the Upper/Lower in one day. I was sore, stiff, beat and exhausted but loved every minute of it and would do it again anytime. I went white water rafting for the first time with River Expeditions, and it was the best trip I have ever taken. I drove all the way from Michigan not knowing what to find there, and just everybody and everything you had to offer was just great. Here it is two days after Christmas and I am already pumped up about the up coming rafting season. I′m going to book my September trip on the upper gauley in a few minutes and will be booking a trip for sometime in July when I know the dates. My first time whitewater rafting was this past weekend on the New River, 12′ above normal. Wow! What a rush! The guides were professional and enthusiastic. Restroom and showers were clean. I first learned of River Expeditions at a Sportsman Show in Pennsylvania during February 2002. There were many outfitters there that day and the friendliness of the representative and knowledge of the subject made it an easy decision to go with River Expeditions. My first rafting experience in May of 2003 was a AWESOME and I recently completed my second trip…and I will say as long as River Expeditions is running the rivers, I will not go with any other outfitter! The friendly staff, superb river guides and great facilities all coupled with their concern for safety makes them THE outfitter to raft with! Keep it Up!Jason Taylor

We just came back from a weekend trip to WV to run the Lower Gauley, and it was absolutely worth the 18 hours we drove round trip. Our guide (Matt) was so competent and knew the river so well that each time we encountered a potential hairy situation (Pure Screaming Hell anyone???) he breezed us right through it. We intend on coming back every year, and River Expeditions will be our outfitter of choice when we do. We didn′t want to come home, and we can′t WAIT to come back next Spring! Outstanding job. AMAZING!! On Sunday we rafted the Lower Gauley, and Monday the Upper. One is not necessarily superior to the other, just different. The bigger sibling (Upper) will definitely make you respect the river. I can′t imagine how the poor guys who decided to raft with those other companies must feel. Extreme was professional, safe, yet gave a group of adventurous guys their money′s worth several fold. Thanks to Justin and Spencer, the surfing was awesome. The guys from Mayberry will see you next year. Thanks to the good weather, being the only 4 guys on the river without wetsuits turned out to be great also.Neil Brendle

Sorry we didn′t make it there this year…. We really missed being at River Expeditions, and seeing Justin and all the other wonderful people… We tried anothercompany to white water raft with, and it just wasn′t the same.
